The Hill College Lady Rebel’s basketball team is setting high expectations for the season.

Led by Head Coach Scott Hyland, the Hill College women’s basketball team has an early season schedule that is arguably one of the toughest. They have matched up with the likes of three Top 25 teams, with number one New Mexico Junior College and number four Trinity Valley, being in the Top 5.

A core group of ladies have really shown the ability to lead the team into a great season. Sophomore Jade Compton has been one of those standouts. Coming off a great season last year as the second leading rebounder in the conference, Compton shows no signs of slowing down. She recently had an amazing game, scoring 24 points against number one ranked New Mexico.

“We have a lot of potential,” says Hyland, “We’ve got to get that talent and potential working together and heading in the same direction.” With the talent level and strength of schedule, the Lady Rebels are a must see this season. Their next game will be played at home against Paul Quinn JV Friday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m.
